Give A Rat A Home Plea

By Martin Neville
AN inquisitive critter at the RSPCA centre at Godshill was waiting for someone to re-home him on Tuesday — World Rat Day — this week.

The animal centre is playing Pied Piper to around 50 rats, which centre manager Pauline Sadler said made good companions and great pets for people with the commitment, time and money to offer one a loving home.

She said: "Rats make intelligent, affectionate pets but people should be careful not to keep different sexes together as they will breed rapidly."

The friendly animals, in a variety of ages and colours, were taken to Bohemia Corner, at Godshill, as unwanted pets.
The centre has had some success in recent months after a previous appeal saw around 20 of its then population of 70 rats re-homed.

Anyone who can answer the latest call can contact the centre on 840287.
