DANVERS — Last year, the Rev. Mary Scott Wagner held a public blessing of all animals at Endicott Park.
More than 200 people — and their pets — showed up.
"What I'm constantly amazed at is how much people love their animals," said Wagner, the rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in Danvers.
And she's not necessarily talking about dogs and cats.
In just the past two years, pet owners seeking divine protection for their nonhuman companions have brought their horses, rats, mice, gerbils and guinea pigs to the park for a blessing.
